Starting the AppBuilder

See OpenEdge Getting Started: Installation and Configuration for details on how to install and configure Progress Dynamics.

To start the AppBuilder:

If the Progress Dynamics databases are not already auto-started, from the Windows Start Menu choose Start Progress Dynamics Start Progress Dynamics DB Servers.
From the Windows Start Menu, choose Start OpenEdge Progress Dynamics Progress Dynamics Development. The Application Login window appears, as shown:



This standard login window (which you can customize for your application or your organization) allows the user to:

Choose a language to operate in.
Specify a Login Company or organizational entity, which is used to apply appropriate customizations and security settings (the default is taken from the user profile).
Enter the login information in the Application Login window, then choose OK. The Application Login window registers you as a Progress Dynamics user.

The AppBuilder main window appears and its status bar updates to show your full Progress Dynamics user name as well as the current company you selected in the Application Login window. You can now start Progress Dynamics development using the AppBuilder.
